Job description

The Peninsula London is seeking to hire Mechanical & Plumbing Engineers who will take pride in ensuring the good maintenance and repair of all Mechanical & Plumbing works throughout the Hotel and Residences, complying with all building regulations and mandatory inspections.

Key accountabilities

  • Ensure Engineering maintenance requests are carried out in a timely manner to a good standard in accordance with established policies and procedures, maintenance programme and operation schedule including but not limited to: House Rules and Regulation, Health and Safety, Emergency Response and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Carry out all mechanical and plumbing work connected with hot and cold-water supplies including AHU and FCU, Soil & Waste disposal system, ensuring drain channels and pipes are regularly cleaned under planned maintenance program.
  • Repair and maintain in good working condition all plumbing works such as flushing system, toilet bowls, urinals, basins and vent pipes and waste pipes, etc., including floor traps and grease traps.
  • Carry out inspection, testing and chemical treatment to swimming pools, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with all engineers and external contractors whenever necessary and interact with other departments to provide additional or specialized guest services.

General requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role within a similar environment.
  • Trade certified or NVQ level Mechanical Engineering and Plumbing Systems.
  • Good understanding of building service such as HVAC systems and Plumbing and Drainage and relevant rules & regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Good problem-solving skills, organized and detail-oriented.
  • This position requires the fulfilment of night shift duties based on the operational needs of the business. The ability and willingness to work during these hours is a necessary condition of employment.
