What is the job about?

As a Sustainability Business Account Manager, you will be responsible for engaging with new business contacts to aid companies of all sizes with their energy management and carbon reporting approach. You will be responsible for promoting sustainability practices and solutions to businesses at various stages of their Net Zero journey, ensuring alignment with their sustainability goals and providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.

You will conduct in-depth consultations with clients to understand their carbon reporting requirements, energy monitoring and reduction plans and identify areas for improvement. This involves analysing current carbon and energy management plans, proposing strategies to enhance energy efficiency and reduce costs and carbon emissions. This position requires a blend of business acumen, sustainability knowledge, and a passion for sustainability to help our clients achieve their energy efficiency and environmental goals.

What exactly will you do?

  • Prospect for new business via various channels including cold calling and networking.
  • Develop and maintain strong connections with business clients to gain an understanding of their sustainability objectives.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' current sustainability practices.
  • Collaborate with clients to deliver tailored sustainability solutions that optimise energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Lead the implementation of sustainable energy solutions, including energy-efficient technologies, and carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of projects.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities to expand sustainable energy services to existing clients, driving revenue growth while advancing environmental goals.
  • Successfully onboard new clients
  • Any other duties that are deemed appropriate from time to time.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in account management, business development, or sales
  • Strong grasp of sustainable energy practices and energy efficiency strategies.
  • Experience working towards targets and KPI’s
  • Previous cold calling experience
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across various levels.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience dealing with large commercial clients.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer support.
  • Sound analytical skills, capable of clearly identifying and solving complex problems.
  • Articulate and effective communicator with excellent written, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Highly organised, pragmatic and, confident in your ability to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Good understanding of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and CRM systems
  • Good understanding of the commercial energy market
  • Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field.
