Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist for a weekend service across Hertfordshire. About the Company

We are currently looking for a Paediatric Occupational Therapist for a weekend service across Hertfordshire. £350-£450 Per day.

Starting 24th May – Weekends only - Saturday and/or Sunday

  • Must have at least 1 year NHS experience and UK-based experience
  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration
  • Children’s OT experience in the last two years (essential)
  • Experience undertaking paediatric Occupational Therapy assessments, including the Movement Assessment Battery for Children and Developmental Test of Visual Motor Integration (essential)
  • Experience in detailed assessment of handwriting speed
  • Experience implementing a range of interventions (essential)
  • Relevant CPD completed within the last two years (essential)
  • Experience working with occupational participation difficulties such as self-care and school-based occupational performance issues (essential)
  • Ability to manage own caseload effectively (essential)
  • Experience working as an OT in a community clinic or mainstream school setting within the last two years (essential)

About the Role

The OT will support with Health and EHCP processes.

For health, the age range is 5-18.

Focus on functional difficulties, personal activities, and access to home.

The OT will complete initial assessments for children, including child scoring, target setting, and reporting.

Referrals for children will be completed as needed.

If children require interventions, they will be referred to HCT's own therapy assistants.

Most interventions will be delivered by assistants, with a maximum of 6 interventions per child.

Initial assessments will last 90 minutes, plus administrative tasks, referrals, and reports. The caseload will be limited to 2 children per day. Reports will be sent to parents, schools, GPs, and referrers.
