The role of an On Board Manager at Avanti West Coast is essential to our success, focusing on our people and customer experience. This is a people-oriented role managing a dedicated team of onboard crews responsible for delivering excellent service to our customers. Please note, this role is not onboard the train but involves managing the onboard crews.

You will lead and engage your team to 'win together' and uphold our standards of customer service. Your role includes sharing the company's vision and values through your team.

Role responsibilities:
  1. Manage team behaviors in line with business values, supervise performance, sickness absence, and availability, providing feedback and addressing issues.
  2. Lead and implement planned changes and support onboard teams with new commercial activities.
  3. Ensure the safety of your onboard teams by complying with safety standards.
  4. Manage budgets in collaboration with the Finance Business Partner.
  5. Deliver excellent customer service consistently.
  6. This role requires an 'On Call' commitment and flexibility to work hours suited to the railway environment.

You should be a proven leader with experience managing teams, capable of juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a focus on safety and customer satisfaction are key. In return, you will receive a competitive salary, career progression opportunities, and excellent training and development. You must reside within one hour of the depot for on-call purposes.
