Hospital Porter (Bank)

Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital | Facilities | Bank Contract - ad hoc

Salary: £12.33 per hour

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

As a General Hospital Porter at our Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital, you’ll need to be a good communicator, as this role involves helping our patients feel relaxed and reassured before and after surgery. It’s also essential that you’re happy to undergo our Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, as part of your application.

Responsibilities of a General Hospital Porter include:

1. Manage waste streams (clinical, domestic, recycling, special)
2. Carry out security checks (early morning opening, evening lockdown, and ad hoc)
3. Control access to the car park
4. Manage patient transfers between departments
5. Manage both internal and external post (including recording of postal use by on-site third parties)
6. Maintain the external environment to a high standard (including the car park)
7. Support the Porter Team Leader and Facilities Team to ensure that third-party facilities providers deliver the agreed levels of service
8. Opportunity to complete some shifts in the Supplies department to increase available bank hours
