Job summary

The Surgical Assessment Unit at Ipswich Hospital are looking for a highly motivated individual to join us as a Clinical Support Technician.

You will become part of our friendly and well-established Clinical Support Technician Team. You will provide excellent support to our medical and nursing staff in supporting the flow through our surgical assessment unit and surgical division at Ipswich Hospital.

We are looking for an individual who is keen to develop and deliver excellent clinical care. You must be motivated to drive forward and improve the services for the population of Ipswich and surrounding area. In turn, we are keen to give you the opportunity to develop your skills whilst supporting you in your career development.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to learn the clinical skills required to undertake a number of procedures to facilitate patient care and treatments, including venepuncture.

You will assist registered nurses in delivering high quality patient care including assisting patients to perform activities of their daily living in accordance with their plan of care.

You will assist with clinical procedures, including the preparation of the patient and equipment.

You will be a member of the core Cardiac Arrest Team and attend cardiac arrests and emergency situations.

You must be able to work well in a team and be flexible according to the day-to-day needs of the service.

You will be required to work a variety of shifts including weekends and nights. Overnight you will be responsible to the site matron.
