Finance Analyst - Month End (Glasgow based)

Job Description

This is a great opportunity to enhance your finance experience. You will be responsible for reviewing financial data, preparing analysis, and providing insightful commentary for Finance Business Partners to aid strategic decision-making processes. You will gain exposure across all levels of the business, achieved through understanding of sub-ledger processes, preparation of monthly reporting, and collaboration with various finance and non-finance teams.

Responsibilities

1. Analyzing income and expenditure transactions, providing variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
2. Processing manual journals to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
3. Reconciling financial and non-financial transactions to ensure data integrity.
4. Providing analysis and reporting packs for month-end on agreed processes.
5. Maintaining communication with key customers and business areas, nurturing relationships to ensure a center of excellence is maintained and continues to provide value-added service to the business.
6. Supporting the Team Manager in improving results through increased employee engagement.
7. Supporting the development culture through coaching and development of key team members.

Qualifications

• Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and flexible team player, comfortable working independently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with effective communication at all stakeholder levels.
• Ability to adapt and embrace change.

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Full or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
