Role Overview
  • To work as a Nurse Practitioner, as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team within the FNC+
  • To work as a Band 6 Nurse Practitioner to clinically assess & review patients via telephone or video consultation. This may include patient referrals from GPs, SAS, NHS 24, Carehomes, Prisons, assessing and prescribing via PGD, formulating appropriate management plans including direction of care or escalation to more senior clinicians.
  • Liaise with staff in the service.
  • Report to the FNC+ management team as appropriate and participate in working groups to improve patient care.
  • Undergo quarterly rotations to other services to maintain clinical skills and competence.
Additional Information Specific to the Role
  • Rotational shift pattern, 24/7 coverage.
  • Ability to formulate clinical management plans within scope of practice, or escalate as appropriate.
  • Clinical Assessment level 10 (or equivalent) is essential. Study time will be supported for staff who do not currently possess this, but commitment to study and completion must be agreed upon at interview. Full-time hours are essential during the study period.

What you'll need to bring
  • Registered Nurse with current revalidation and NMC Registration.
  • Education at Degree Level or equivalent.
  • Graduate Certificate in Urgent Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Mints Major / Minor Injury practitioner / or Emergency Nurse Practitioner qualification.
  • Postgraduate expertise in the relevant speciality demonstrating breadth of knowledge to lead safely and effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within minor injuries.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures relevant to the speciality.

Please note: a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence is required for positions where driving is necessary.

Additional desirable qualities
  • Demonstrable post-registration experience.
  • Evidence of audit and evaluation of new initiatives.
Contract Details

Permanent contract with various hours. For part-time roles, the salary will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

Based in FNC+ department within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters. The working pattern includes various hours, 12-hour shifts, over 7 days, 24-hour coverage.
