The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Patient Pathway Tracker within NHS Lanarkshire. Working closely with all members of MDT and associated clerical staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and planned movement of cancer and suspected cancer patients through their journey from referral onwards. You will co-ordinate and monitor the investigation and treatment journey for urgent patients ensuring delays are pre-empted and resolved to enable the patients to receive treatment in line with national targets.

What we'll need you to bring
  • HND Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Administration experience within a hospital setting
  • Proficient in use of Software systems
  • Advanced keyboard skills
  • Excellent Organisational and communication skills
  • Track record of ability to prioritise and problem solve
  • Car Driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence - have own transport to travel between hospital sites in Lanarkshire

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of the importance of data quality
  • Knowledge of cancer waiting times standards
  • Proficient in the use of hospital systems including Trakcare
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Contract type

Fixed Term for 1 year

Full time

37 hours

Please note this is a fixed term for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment.

The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Cancer Services within University Hospital Wishaw
