Job description

Here at The Mick George Group, we are looking for Plant Operators/Labourers to join the team at our Mayton Wood site.

Job Overview:

To operate plant and machinery to assist with the retrieval of minerals and profiling of ground to the required level. Any other duties required in the day-to-day running of the quarry/landfill as deemed necessary by a site supervisor/manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out daily/weekly maintenance checks of the mobile & fixed plant to the necessary standard.
  2. Perform daily/weekly maintenance tasks on mobile & fixed plant, including greasing and cleaning equipment.
  3. Report any defects to site management/workshop using the R2C app.
  4. Dispatch and control the quality of products.
  5. Follow plant GPS to alter ground levels as required.
  6. Perform other duties related to the quarry as requested by a supervisor/manager.
  7. Accurately record working hours on timesheets and submit weekly.
  8. Log production data, plant stoppages, breakdowns, and ensure logs are documented correctly.
  9. Inform quarry management of any materials unsuitable for production.
  10. Understand company procedures regarding breakdowns to act swiftly and minimize downtime.
  11. Highlight any training needs to line management, especially for legislative requirements.
  12. Conduct oneself safely to avoid endangering oneself or others.
  13. Maintain professionalism as an ambassador of Mick George Group.
  14. Keep the site clean to minimize hazards.
  15. Maintain regular contact with site management.
Skills/Qualifications:
  1. A full UK driving licence.
  2. Experience with Dozer, 360 Excavator, or Dump Truck (minimum 5 years).
  3. A hard-working nature.
  4. Experience with GPS (machine control).
