An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Youth Justice Worker to support young people in Doncaster. A Youth Justice Worker plays a key role in ensuring that the young people of Doncaster have the best chance to thrive individually and as part of their communities. As part of the Youth Justice Service (YJS), you will manage a caseload of young people aged 10-17 that have been identified as being on the cusp of the Criminal Justice System. You will promote the service to young people and families and develop a bespoke offer of support for them.
You will be required to undertake standardised assessments as identified by the Youth Justice Board and create individualised plans for intervention. Alongside colleagues from the YJS specialist interventions teams and community organisations, you will help deliver the most appropriate interventions to help young people move forward.
Initially the post will be funded and be part of the Turnaround project, this is centrally funded through the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and has the following aims:
To be successful in this role you will need to be passionate about the young people of Doncaster to help them realise their full potential. You will be self-motivated, organised and determined. The role will be busy, challenging and rewarding.
You will be required to work as part of a wider team within Youth Justice but also with numerous internal and external agencies to ensure best outcomes for young people and families. You will be required to contribute towards targets set out by the MoJ.
