An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a dynamic team at James Cook University Hospital as a Neurophysiology and Sleep Services Apprentice. The role involves clinical Neurophysiology and Sleep studies, with a full-time, 3-year fixed-term contract leading to a degree apprenticeship in Healthcare Science Level 6.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and dynamic team at James Cook University Hospital as an apprentice, delivering Neurophysiology and Sleep services in the Middlesbrough/Tees Valley area. You will work alongside a team comprising 1 Principal Clinical Neurophysiologist, 1 Highly Specialised Clinical Physiologist, 3 Specialised Clinical Physiologists, 3 Clinical Physiologists, 3 Consultant Neurophysiologists, and an Administration Team, as well as Associate and Assistant sleep physiologists.
We are seeking candidates with excellent communication and IT skills, enthusiasm for patient care, and a friendly, understanding disposition. Previous experience working with the public in a caring capacity would be advantageous.
The role involves all aspects of clinical Neurophysiology, including Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), as well as Sleep studies such as Polysomnography (PSG) and Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (MLST).
This position is remunerated on a band 5 Annex 21 scale, with the salary ranging from £23,875 to £36,483, depending on experience and year of training. The role is a full-time, 3-year fixed-term contract, leading to a substantive post upon successful completion of the degree apprenticeship in Healthcare Science Level 6, delivered at the University of West England (Bristol). The apprenticeship requires travel and includes funding for travel and subsistence, but the ANS Part 1 professional examination is self-funded.
