Our client, a leading organisation in the Public Sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer (Streetspace) to join their team on a 3-year fixed-term basis in a vibrant North London Borough.

Key skills required for this role

Important

Principal Engineer with a working knowledge and understanding of highways, traffic, and transport legislations, statutory duties, and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, review, design, consultation, and delivery of schemes to promote walking, cycling, and bus priority.
• Implementations to reduce congestion and enhance road safety, including School Streets, strategic cycle routes, and traffic signal works.
• Oversee bus lanes and various measures targeting congestion reduction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful and timely project delivery.
• Provide expertise and guidance to team members within the Streetspace team.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports and recommendations.
• Maintain robust client and community relationships through effective communication and customer service.

Job Requirements:

• Extensive experience as a Principal Engineer in the traffic and transportation sector.
• Working knowledge of highways, traffic, and transport legislation and practices.
• Understanding of current planning, sustainability, and economic agendas influencing transport policy.
• Proven track record in the successful delivery of traffic and parking schemes.
• Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in the field.
