Job description

Join Our Clients Dynamic Mortgages Team at the Heart of Technological Innovation! Are you an experienced Java or C# engineer with a passion for building and maintaining reliable, high-performing systems? Do you thrive in roles where you can make a significant impact on the availability, performance, and efficiency of critical services? If you've previously excelled in an SRE or similar operations environment and are looking for your next challenge, we want to hear from you! These opportunities require you to work one day a week from their offices in either Edinburgh, Manchester or London.

Role Overview:

As part of our clients dedicated Mortgages team, you'll be instrumental in working within a new Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Function, focusing on enhancing system reliability across key areas such as availability, performance, latency, efficiency, capability, and incident response. This role is crucial as they continue their journey from data centers to AWS, embracing cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes along the way.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with engineers to deliver change in a safe, secure, and principled approach.
  2. Be accountable for the daily health of both production and non-production environments, responding to incidents as required.
  3. Support the improvements in non-functional and operating characteristics of our products and services.
  4. Work closely with colleagues and teams across the business to meet service level objectives, contribute to innovations, and manage risks effectively.

What They're Looking For:

Proven experience in software engineering with a strong background in Java or C#. Experience in an SRE function or similar operations environment, excluding purely DevOps, infrastructure, or deployment analyst roles. Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, and moving systems from data centers to cloud environments. A solid understanding of full-stack development, incident management, and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.

Why Our Client? This is more than just a job. It's an opportunity to join a team committed to making a tangible impact through their work. They are not just looking for someone who can do the job; they're looking for someone who wants to be part of something bigger. If you're ready to push boundaries, reduce toil through automation, and deliver solutions that balance innovation with reliability, they are ready for you.

Apply Now! If you meet the above criteria and are excited about contributing to a team that influences the lives of millions, we would love to receive your application. Please send your CV to Lesley Cameron
