Behaviour Mentor / Teaching Assistant - SEMH

Location: High Wycombe
Salary: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience) / £25,000 per year.
Type: Temporary to Permanent

About This Role


Leader Education is currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Behaviour Mentor / Teaching Assistant to support secondary school students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role involves working directly with students who exhibit challenging behaviour, helping them to understand and manage their emotions effectively. You will support students both inside and outside the classroom to improve their behaviour, boost their academic performance, and foster a positive learning environment.

No two days will be the same, and you will need to be adaptable and able to think on your feet. Your focus will be on building strong, trusting relationships with the students, tailoring support to meet their individual needs while adhering to the school's policies. This is an incredibly rewarding role where you can make a real difference in the lives of students.

Role Requirements

  • Passion for working with children and young people
  • Strong, resilient personality with the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
  • Empathy, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting students
  • Experience in Youth Work, teaching assistant roles, SEN support, or similar experience within a school setting is highly desirable
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop in your role
