At Paxton Personnel, we specialize in connecting top-tier civil engineering professionals with leading contractors across the UK. We are currently working with a respected civil engineering contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee key projects across Scotland.

Role Overview

As a Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will manage project teams, liaise with stakeholders, and drive the execution of major infrastructure and construction works. The role requires flexibility to travel to various sites across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of civil engineering projects
  • Manage project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance across all site activities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and local authorities
  • Identify and mitigate risks to project delivery
  • Report on project progress, key milestones, and financial performance
  • Ensure efficient resource allocation and cost control
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil engineering
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, planning, and project management principles
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office
  • Full clean UK driving license
Desirable:
  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure, highways, utilities, or major civil works projects
  • Chartered status or working towards (ICE, CIOB, or equivalent)
  • SMSTS, CSCS, or other relevant health & safety certifications
