Qualifications

Job description

Astute's Power Team is seeking an EC and I (Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation) Technician for a new Energy from Waste Power Station in Bedfordshire

The facility, now fully operational, disposes of over 545,000 tonnes of residual waste annually and generates over 60 megawatts of low-carbon energy, powering more than 112,500 homes.

The successful candidate will support the EC and I Team Leader in performing both pre-planned and reactive maintenance of all EC and I assets on site.

Responsibilities and duties of the EC and I Technician
  • Perform pre-planned and reactive maintenance on all electrical, controls, and instrumentation assets across the power station.
  • Fault finding and maintaining electrical systems, including motors, drives, switchgear, high/low voltage equipment, and instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, level, and flow sensors.
  • Calibrate instrumentation to ensure accurate readings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, plant modifications, and design work.
  • Supervise third-party contractors to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
