Job Opportunity: EC&I Technician at Elevation Recruitment Group

Elevation Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for an EC&I Technician to join a leading manufacturer of building products.

This role is ideal for an apprentice-trained or degree-level EC&I Technician, focusing primarily on instrumentation of equipment as well as electrical and controls systems (no PLC programming experience required).

Responsibilities:
  1. Support and maintain all site LV infrastructure.
  2. Assist in engineering capital and revenue projects, particularly in electrical and automation areas, ensuring safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  3. Enhance efficiency and safety across all sites.
  4. Support maintenance and development plans for site infrastructure, including planned and unplanned improvements.
  5. Provide technical support and specifications for automation/PLC projects, including troubleshooting.
  6. Maintain and develop instrumentation for kiln, dyer, and calcine processes, including monitoring devices for pressure, temperature, humidity, etc.
  7. Utilize SCADA systems to improve data collection and process efficiency, energy savings.
  8. Support and maintain process data systems, including SCADA and digital recorders.
  9. Develop and manage an instrumentation maintenance plan aligned with the site’s maintenance management system.
  10. Provide H&S, engineering, and maintenance support as needed.
  11. Ensure full electrical compliance in all work.
  12. Offer technical support to optimize process efficiency.
  13. Maintain the required competency levels as per the ‘Management of Engineering Asset Integrity Policy Document’.
  14. Maintain awareness of Functional Safety and conduct annual proof testing.
  15. Participate in relevant training programs.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Level 4 apprenticeship or equivalent in electrical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of apprentice training or equivalent, certified to EITB in Electrical Engineering.
  • National Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
  • Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Completion of 18th Edition BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations (training provided).
