EC&I Technician
Bedfordshire

Monday-Friday Days + 1 in 4 Week On-Call-Rota

£48,000-£52,000

Our client is a leading energy business, with multiple sites throughout the UK, recovering valuable resources to provide power to 100,000 homes in the local area.

Due to growth plans at the site, they are looking for a number of EC&I Technicians to join their engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team of 14 engineers on site
  • Carry out all planned & unplanned maintenance, inspection & fault finding for all EC&I, HV/LV electrical power systems, industrial electrical systems
  • Working on DCS systems, PLC's, SCADA systems
  • Instrumentation calibration, testing & inspections
  • Contribute towards the planning of EC&I outage for plant shutdowns
  • Liaise daily with specialist contractors on site, create RAMS, organise & manage contractors
  • Maintain stock levels for spares, update PPM's, method statements and maintain CMMS

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Must have at least 5 years experience working in a medium to large industrial facility
  • Working knowledge of CMMS, contractor management, creating RAMS
  • Transferable industries - recycling, power generation, energy, utilities, industrial manufacturing
  • Must have worked in highly regulated electrical isolation & safety environments
  • Strong electrical fault finding, testing & inspection skills
  • Instrumentation calibration, testing, inspection & maintenance experience
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical, Controls or Instrumentation Engineering
  • Ideally have completed a time-served-apprenticeship
  • Must have dealt with HV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, generators, DCS systems
  • PLC - electrical fault finding (I/O) skills
  • Happy with working on a call-out-rota, do overtime and longer hours during shutdown periods
