We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join a highly reputable and well-established industrial company at their site in Mitcham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically skilled engineer to join a forward-thinking business, where you will be involved in a wide variety of engineering tasks focused on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
The company operates in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment and is known for investing in their staff and infrastructure. This role will suit someone from a heavy industrial, utilities, or process plant background who thrives on fault-finding, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Skills required for the EC&I Technician:
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Control Systems (or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of SCADA, PLCs (Omron, Siemens, Allen Bradley), and field instrumentation.
Experience in hazardous area environments (ATEX) beneficial.
Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
The EC&I Technician will be responsible for:
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.
Installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.).
Troubleshooting and modifying PLC and control systems to ensure optimal performance.
Maintaining and updating control system documentation.
Supporting plant upgrades, shutdowns, and new installations.
Working closely with engineers and operations teams to resolve issues.
