EC&I Project Engineer for Hazardous Industries

Job summary

Bilfinger UK in Warrington is seeking an EC&I Project Engineer to develop EC&I Construction Work Packs from design, supporting tendering, sub-contractor management, handover and closeout.

Based at the Warrington Head Office with weekly site visits to NGT sites, you will contribute to a multi-discipline project delivering national infrastructure for a key client, coordinating with project and construction managers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in ECI engineering, with at least 2 years in a hazardous industry (petrochemical, oil & gas, nuclear).
• MSc/Degree/HND/C in discipline or related field.
• CEng or IEng (Chartered/Incorporated) preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills as part of a large project team.
• Self-motivated to meet client deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop EC&I CWPs from design packages to meet technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure subcontracts are within budget and programme; escalate early if needed.
• Plan and schedule EC&I installation/commissioning with construction managers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors to ensure resources are available for CWP execution.
• Identify risks and issues and address them to avoid delays or safety concerns.
• Attend meetings with clients and keep project leads informed on progress.
