Responsibilities

1. To be the lead engineering representative on the project. Responsible for delivery in terms of quality, meeting requirements, safety, value for money, and schedule. Be the main point of contact for all engineering matters on a project.
2. To ensure that the Engineering Requirements are suitable & appropriate and advise the Senior Engineering Manager.
3. To recommend the budget and program, to the Senior Engineering Manager, to deliver the design.
4. Assessing the suitability of engineering design resources (both internal and external to AWE) to execute facility design. Ensure adequate competency and competency records.
5. To lead, drive, communicate, and deliver Facility Designs, with due regard to safety, quality, schedule, cost-effectiveness, and lifetime value for money.
6. Maintaining oversight of the facility design as it develops via routine reviews.
7. To deliver, to the SEM, design solutions that meet business needs, functional performance, through life performance, and are licensable and deliverable.
8. To manage the Design Intent and Design Information Configuration from inception through to project handover.
9. To provide functional support in identifying and implementing change, development, and improvement.
10. To assist the Head of Design Engineering in developing the Facility Design capability within AWE, encompassing both Improvements and Resource skills development.

What You Need to Succeed

• HNC/HND or Degree qualification, ideally Chartered.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations is desirable.
• SC Clearance (essential).
• Background in EC&I and/or PP&E engineering.
• Multidisciplinary engineering experience preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels.
• Previous experience in highly regulated industries.
• Ability to capture engineering requirements and produce technical documentation and specifications.
• Demonstrated project team leadership throughout product design lifecycle, in particular, concept and detailed design phases.
