Job summary

Babcock is seeking an EC&I engineer to support the Submarine Defuel Delivery Project in delivering EC&I design, surveys, and as-built documentation on the Devonport site. You will contribute to quality management in line with the company’s system and safety requirements.

The role requires a degree in EC&I Engineering and may prefer Chartered Engineer status. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring compliance with design and safety standards while maintaining records and

Qualifications

Experience designing EC&I systems, preferably in a nuclear context.
As-built experience, including surveys and as-built drawings.
Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in technical design development.
Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements.
Sound understanding of Company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety and Quality requirements, and ability to manage tasks in accordance with these procedures.
Working knowledge of relevant engineering computer applications.

Responsibilities

Deliver EC&I activities to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.
Responsible for technical aspects of the EC&I work packages, specifically updating documentation and drawings from detailed design to as-built status.
Undertake inspection and surveys of EC&I systems to ensure compliance with manufacturing drawings and the reference design.
Ensure effective Quality Management Arrangements, operate and deliver through compliance with Babcock’s Business Management System and Technical Manual.
Support ensuring that the processes and activities being undertaken are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
Support ensuring that staff and contractors are familiar with the hazards and risks associated with the work undertaken by the delegated engineering team through effective management and communication of the Risk Assessment.
