Our client, a Chemical manufacturing leader in the UK with global exposure, exporting over 90% of their product, is looking for an EC&I Engineer (Instrumentation biased) to join their team in Norfolk.
Responsibilities
- Lead instrumentation design and project work across the site, ensuring safe and efficient implementation within a COMAH environment.
- Support the design, upgrade, and maintenance of electrical systems, and execute modifications to improve system performance and reliability.
- Assist in configuring, programming, and maintaining PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems to optimise process control. Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms is required.
- Proficient in AutoCAD for producing instrument loop and motor starter drawings.
- Ensure all work aligns with COMAH, ATEX (IEC (phone number removed), and SIL / IEC 61511 standards.
- Investigate and resolve faults in instrumentation and control systems to minimise downtime.
- Support CI initiatives across the plant's manufacturing and EC&I systems.
- Maintain accurate EC&I records, including maintenance logs, calibration data, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with EC&I budgeting to ensure cost-effective and value-driven solutions.
Requirements
- Familiar with Trimble or Amtech for cable sizing and electrical calculations.
- Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is advantageous.
- Competent using design tools to produces instrument loop and motor starter drawings.
- Expertise with RSLogix 500/ 5000, Factory talk 32, Siemens PCS7.
- Experience working on a highly regulated manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of COMAH, Atex, SIL and Functional Safety
