Job Description

Job title: EC&I Design Engineer (Hardware)
Job Type: Permanent
Start date: As soon as possible - Subject to clearance
Duration: Permanent
Salary/Pay rate/Benefits: £50,000 - £70,000 DOE
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week - Hybrid Working (2 days onsite, 3 days WFH available)

Applicants must have experience of the following:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in electrical or electronics
  • Full lifecycle design experience
  • Internal and external equipment testing experience
  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Nuclear or other highly regulated industry experience (Defence, Rail, Pharmaceutical)
  • Experience with the design of electrical cabling and containment systems
  • Understanding of IEC BS EN 61439-1, Low-Voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and Control Panels

Role responsibilities include:

  • Design hardware systems using proprietary hardware components for control panels
  • Prepare, check, and review calculations and designs
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Develop technical solutions to meet project requirements

All candidates must be able to obtain SC Clearance.
