Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced EC&I Design Engineer for a contract role in Liverpool. The position involves significant responsibilities including the development of E&I design, production of diagrams, and adherence to Quality Management Systems. Qualifications

• Strong experience with AMTECH software for cable calculations.
• Proven working experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience with PLC systems and familiar with DCS systems.
• Experience in potentially hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

• Development of E&I design, including project block cable diagrams.
• Production and review of Control Panel and MCC panel schematics.
• Ensure Quality Management Systems are followed and implemented.

Job description

Overview

EC&I Design Engineer
Liverpool
38 hours per week
£45-£50 per hour (Outside IR35)
12 month initial contract

Responsibilities

• Development of E&I design which will include but not be limited to the following:
• Project Block cable and single line diagrams
• Instrument and valve data sheets (Specification of)
• Production and review of Instrument Loop diagrams, Junction box and connection diagrams, Control Panel and MCC panel schematics
• Specification of Hazardous area and non-hazardous area equipment, I.S safety calculations
• Writing/assisting with control system User Requirement Specifications, Development of Cause & effects matrix
• Various Schedules (Termination, cable, label, junction box etc.)
• Review ways of working and where possible implement changes to improve safety and efficiency
• Ensure Quality Management Systems are followed, managed and implemented

Qualifications / Experience

• Strong experience with AMTECH software for cable calculations
• Proven working experience with AutoCAD
• Experience with PLC systems and familiar with DCS systems - Siemens S7/TIA Portal
• Experience of working in the process industry and in potentially hazardous / explosive environments
• Be familiar with Functional Safety Systems and the requirements of BSEN 61508 & BSEN 61511
