We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and proactive EBSA / EBSD Outreach Worker to support children and young people experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and Emotionally Based School Dysregulation (EBSD).
This role is focused on helping pupils overcome emotional barriers to learning and school attendance through a combination of direct intervention, family support and partnership working with schools and external agencies. The successful candidate will work with pupils both in school and within community settings, helping them build confidence, develop coping strategies and successfully engage with education.
The role requires the ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable young people and their families whilst maintaining high expectations and promoting positive outcomes.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential requirements of this post, as regular travel between schools, homes and professional meetings will be required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed regardless of the barriers they face. We support young people to re-engage with education, build confidence and realise their full potential.
We empower pupils and families to overcome challenges, develop emotional resilience and build the skills needed to successfully engage with learning and school life.
We value positive relationships, empathy and understanding. Through a compassionate and child-centred approach, we help young people feel safe, supported and ready to thrive.
If you would like to know more about the role or arrange an informal discussion, we would be delighted to hear from you.
We look forward to receiving your application and discussing how you could contribute to improving outcomes for children and young people experiencing emotionally based barriers to education.
