Job summary

A large acute NHS Trust in Lewisham is seeking an experienced EBME technician to maintain and repair complex medical equipment. The ideal candidate will have an HNC in electronics or equivalent, practical experience, and strong communication skills. You'll participate in a flexible on-call rota and contribute to department growth and quality improvements. This opportunity provides a supportive environment focused on equality and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Certified training on a wide range of medical equipment.
  • At least 2 years of practical experience as a Hospital EBME engineer.
  • Current driving licence.

Responsibilities

Job description
Overview

These post are within the EBME Department of the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, a large acute Trust with around 900 beds serving the population of South East London. This post is based at University Hospital Lewisham where there is a team of 4 EBME technicians, with a similarly sized team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital making up the EBME department. There is support between the two main sites and flexibility in working at Lewisham is required from time to time. Support to outlying community sites may also be required. The Trust EBME department has recently expanded as it has taken an external contract in-house and is embarked on a process of improvement to introduce a formal Quality System and integration of the inventory and job management across the Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for an EBME technician to be involved in a department that is expanding its role within a busy acute NHS Trust. You will participate in Out of Hours "On Call" ROTA.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair a wide range of complex medical equipment. Support to outlying community sites may be required, with flexibility to work across Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital sites. Be involved in the department\'s expansion and improvement efforts, including integration of the inventory and job management across the Trust. Use a computer database for job management and maintain appropriate records. Participate in on-call duties as part of the local rota.
