Interim Completions Accounts Manager, Acquisition Finance - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

In this role, you will work closely with the Completion Accounts Manager, Acquisition Accounting Manager, external vendor accountants, and finance teams in each territory. Your responsibilities include overseeing the accounting of acquisitions into IVC Evidensia by managing the production, agreement, and posting of completion accounts.

You will support the Acquisition Accounting Manager with review tasks related to deferred consideration, including assessment and payment thereof.

The role involves being the main managerial point of contact for one day each week. Your team activities will include reviewing submitted completion accounts for recent acquisitions, ensuring compliance with IVC policy and financial reporting standards, negotiating final purchase price payments with vendors, and ensuring the creation and posting of completion accounts are completed on time and according to best practices.

This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

1. Assisting in managing and prioritising team workload and resourcing
2. Mentoring and supporting junior team members
3. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders across Mainland Europe, UK & Ireland, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements in each market
4. Reviewing and approving completion accounts for final sign-off or further approval and payment
5. Checking and approving journals related to completion accounts for entry into Open Accounts
6. Ensuring adherence to internal, contractual, or statutory deadlines related to completion accounts
7. Reviewing reconciliation of acquisition-related balance sheet accounts for UK & Ireland and Mainland Europe
8. Supporting the development and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure work is completed accurately, consistently, and on schedule

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

• Degree-level education and a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA or similar)
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, including team management
• Proven success in supervising teams and managing stakeholders
• Strong technical knowledge of balance sheets and financial statements
• Ability to deliver positive outcomes for the business and team objectives
• Experience with acquisition accounting, completion accounts, and audit processes
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work with a clear audit trail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Deadline-oriented
• Understanding of small company operations
• Excellent organisational skills
• Interest in training and mentoring

Desirable:

• First-time qualification passes
• Experience with Open Accounts
• Regular CPD, especially with current financial reporting standards
• Language skills (Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian)
