A leading mental health charity is seeking Mental Health Practitioners to support individuals in managing their mental health and achieving personal goals. The role involves providing practical and emotional support across various pathways of recovery. Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. We have represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for almost 100 years. Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others.
These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change. SAMH is dedicated to mental health and wellbeing for all: with a vision of a society where people are able to live their lives fully, regardless of present or past circumstances.

About the Role
SAMH Mental Health Practitioners play an important role in supporting people who use our services to develop skills to better manage their mental health and live independently, upholding their rights to privacy, dignity and personal choice. SAMH community services provide a range of mental health and social care support to individuals and may also provide support with other complex needs. SAMH Moray provides 6 pathways of recovery based practical and emotional support to individuals across Moray andSAMH Mental Health Practitioners will work across these 6 pathways.

What we are looking for
Respect and dignity for the people who use our services is at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for people with great people skills who are honest, reliable and resilient in challenging situations.
You will be able to use initiative, compassion, energy and determination to establish a therapeutic relationships with individuals with a range of support needs and support them to identify and achieve meaningful goals.
Knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems or distress is desirable but not essential, as is experience working with adults with a wide range of support needs.
Supporting the people who use our services means there are a variety of shift patterns including evenings and weekends. Please note that travel is an essential part of the role and due to the geographical reach, a valid driving licence and access to own vehicle are desirable for the post.
