Where you fit in

Based in the Southern North Sea, Operations & Maintenance Tech will be based on Leman Alpha. Reporting to the platform supervision team (Operations & Maintenance Supervisors), technicians are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of installation plant and equipment. They are required to maximize and optimize production opportunities and achieve day-to-day production targets, while maintaining plant equipment, undertaking corrective and preventative maintenance tasks as required. This includes investigating anomalies, front-line problem solving, and reporting/rectifying issues to ensure operational windows are maintained. Ad-hoc visitors and vendors may also be directed by the Operations & Maintenance Tech.

Business Transition Notification: This position is part of the One Gas West asset organization. On 30th July 2024, Shell announced the sale of this asset to RockRose Energy Limited, a subsidiary of Viaro Energy. Upon completion, employment will transfer to a Viaro Energy company under TUPE regulations, estimated for autumn 2025. Further details will be shared during recruitment.

What’s the role?
  • Support delivery of production targets through monitoring and optimization of plant.
  • Ensure facility production, environmental targets, and operating costs are achieved, minimizing potential losses.
  • Contribute to a unified team approach, supporting the OIM and supervisors to improve efficiency.
  • Participate in root cause analysis processes like the 5 Whys for production losses.
  • Engage in offshore/onshore meetings such as surveillance and defect elimination.
  • Lead or contribute to modifications of the installation as appropriate.
What We Need From You
  • Exemplary safety leadership and behaviors aligned with Shell’s HSSE standards.
  • Full understanding of installation activities to make safe, on-the-spot decisions.
  • Competency as an Isolation Owner and permit holder in P-Vision.
  • Active participation in audits and near-miss reporting.
  • Involvement in risk assessments like COSHH, manual handling, etc.
  • Familiarity with Platform Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Awareness of the Installation Safety Case and relevant documentation.
  • High ownership standards in areas of responsibility.
  • First-line emergency response duties as per the Station Bill.
  • Proactive monitoring and defect recording of plant and equipment.
  • Proficiency with electronic maintenance tools, preferably SAP, for defect reporting and resource planning.
  • Compliance with Permit to Work systems, including creating and assisting with permits for maintenance tasks.
  • Execution of Planned and Corrective Maintenance routines.
  • Good communication skills for liaising with onshore teams.
  • Willingness to work on Normally Unmanned Installations, including Walk to Work vessels or flying squads.
