Pay: £83.85 – £90 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a former social worker seeking a rewarding career in education? Your expertise in supporting individuals with diverse needs makes you the perfect fit for SEN/SEMH support roles in Newcastle schools. Protocol Education is seeking compassionate, adaptable, and experienced individuals to make a real impact on students’ lives.
You’ll be working with students who have special educational needs (SEN), including social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH). Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 or small group support, helping students overcome learning barriers.
Implementing personalised interventions to promote emotional well-being and academic progress.
Collaborating with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals.
Managing behaviour effectively and supporting students with emotional regulation.
Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Your background in safeguarding, emotional support, and crisis management makes you uniquely equipped to handle the challenges faced by students with complex needs. Your ability to build trust, de-escalate situations, and provide tailored support will be invaluable in helping students thrive.
Experience working with vulnerable individuals (children or young adults) in a professional setting.
Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and behaviour management strategies.
Ability to work with students facing SEMH challenges, trauma, and attachment difficulties.
Resilient, patient, and empathetic personality.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
