Location: Hybrid Various UK Offices (South London, South West, Midlands, Manchester, Newcastle)

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: GBP40,000 – GBP65,000 (Dependent on experience and level)

About the Role:

We are working with a highly respected engineering consultancy in the water industry that is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of innovative mechanical systems for water treatment and distribution projects. You will be involved in designing and optimising pumping stations, pipework, and treatment plant components to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design mechanical systems, including pumps, pipework, and HVAC for water treatment facilities.
2. Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
3. Conduct energy efficiency assessments and propose sustainable solutions.
4. Work with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
5. Stay updated with evolving water industry regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
2. Experience in mechanical system design within the water sector.
3. Proficiency in software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, or IES–VE.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
5. CEng or working towards chartership (IMechE or CIBSE) is a plus.
