Hays is working with a public sector organisation seeking a proactive and compassionate Health & Wellbeing Advisor. This role involves supporting employee wellbeing and engagement, advising managers on employee support best practices, managing sickness absence processes, and promoting a positive workplace culture through health and wellbeing initiatives.

Your new role

As an HR Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert advice on employee relations, absence management, and performance issues.
  • Developing and delivering health and wellbeing policies, procedures, and training.
  • Offering confidential support to employees facing personal or work-related challenges.
  • Coordinating Occupational Health referrals and managing related data and reporting.
  • Leading wellbeing initiatives and contributing to employee engagement strategies.
  • Staying current with wellbeing trends, legislation, and best practices.
  • Supporting HR systems implementation and performance monitoring.
  • Supervising HR staff and participating in recruitment and change management activities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong HR advisory experience, particularly in wellbeing and absence management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and empathy.
  • Skilled in data analysis and reporting using HR systems.
  • Experience delivering training and working with external support agencies.
  • Third-level qualification or equivalent, and a minimum of three years' experience in Human Resources, or a minimum of five years' experience in Human Resources.

What you'll get in return

  • £19.73 per hour
  • 36 hours per week
  • Temporary contract until at least 31st August 2025
