Job description

Post-Doc Scientist - Advanced Materials

Are you a recent or upcoming PhD graduate who is interested in the development of new materials? A technology company in Cambridge has an opening for a talented scientist to join their research team.

As a scientist in this company, you will be charged with accelerating the development of the next generation materials for various applications that span different sectors. This will include working within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to maximise the performance of new materials, working mainly across high thermal conductivity, nanolithography, and barocaloric materials.

Some key parts of the role will include:

  1. The development and testing of new concepts and the invention of new materials.
  2. Developing new theories and hypotheses for the improvement of existing materials.
  3. Working on new experimental testing methods and widening the company's extensive IP portfolio.

This is a great opportunity to join a company that loves to innovate and push technological boundaries.

To be considered for this role, we are looking for people with strong knowledge of physics and materials, mixed with a passion for innovation and a curious mindset. Any experience with modelling material properties and their performance in devices and systems would be desirable. The client is open to recent PhD graduates through to people with a few years' worth of post-doc or industry experience.

In return for your hard work, the company offers a highly competitive salary, with a 10% signing bonus, and benefits package, as well as excellent career progression opportunities and the chance to work on novel technologies.
