Overview: Our client, a highly respected Legal 100 firm, specializes in Private Client law, handling high-profile, high-value matters including complex estate administration, offshore trusts, tax concerns, and wills and probate issues.

Due to growth, an opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Senior Private Client Associate in Oxford to contribute to the development of their Private Client practice. Reporting to the Head of Private Client, the ideal candidate will be bright, ambitious, and technically proficient in all areas of Private Client law.

Responsibilities include: Advising clients on Wills, Estate Administration, Court of Protection, LPAs, Drafting Deeds of Variation, Inheritance Tax Planning, and Trusts.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop client relationships and contribute to firm growth
  • Compliance with firm policies and continued professional development

The private client team plays a vital role in the firm’s business, handling significant work that contributes to the firm’s turnover. You will collaborate with enthusiastic team members on complex matters and work closely with other departments, including family, trusts, corporate, and tax teams.

Representative cases include:

  • Assisting a wealthy family with succession and tax planning over generations
  • Advising on inheritance tax aspects of business reorganization
  • Handling international probate involving assets in multiple countries
  • Working with a high-net-worth entrepreneur on trust history and restructuring
  • Providing estate and trust planning for landed estate clients

The team covers a broad spectrum of private client work, including:

  • Cross-border estate planning
  • Inheritance, capital gains, and income tax planning
  • Probate and estate/trust administration
  • Wealth structuring for UK and non-UK clients
  • Advising on UK and offshore trusts and structures
  • Tax planning for entrepreneurs and business owners

Candidates should have 6-7+ PQE, trained at a reputable firm, with excellent academics. The role involves advising on family businesses, trusts, and estate planning.
