JOB TITLE: Commercial Project Manager

LOCATION: Bolton

HYBRID WORKING: On average 2 days per week – Bolton Office

REPORTS TO: Commercial Project Portfolio Manager

SALARY: Up To £50,000 depending on experience

JOB PURPOSE:

The Project Manager at Outcomes First Group will be responsible for leading and managing strategic projects that drive organisation-wide business transformation. The Project Manager will lead on-site and virtual, multi-skilled teams, internally and externally, and oversee the planning and successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, to quality standards, and budget. This role involves implementing effective business change strategies to maximize project success and engagement across the organisation, aligned with Outcomes First Group’s mission to provide high-quality care and education to children and adults. It is crucial in ensuring projects achieve their desired outcomes and support the long-term growth of the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Business Change Projects: Manage and deliver end-to-end business change projects, including budget and resource management, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and operational teams, ensuring effective communication and support for change initiatives.
  • Change Management: Develop and implement change management plans, including end-user adoption strategies and engagement of colleagues and pupils, to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption, and to foster advocacy for change.
  • Business Requirements and Process Improvement: Collaborate with Business Analysts to define business requirements and support the design and implementation of improved processes to enhance efficiency across the organisation.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify and manage project risks and resolve issues to ensure timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Create and manage detailed project plans, timelines, allocate resources, and ensure milestones are met.
  • Project Methodology: Effectively work using methodologies including Prince2 and Agile.
  • Project Governance: Complete all required documentation such as Status Reports, PID, RAID, and lead review meetings and huddles.
  • Budget Management: Lead the creation of Business Cases and manage the project budget.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration and successful project execution.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all initiatives comply with organisational policies, industry regulations, and quality standards, including Data Protection.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience leading end-to-end business change projects using methodologies such as Agile, PRINCE2, or Waterfall.
  • Hands-on experience in change management, stakeholder engagement, communication, and training.
  • Ability to manage relationships with senior leadership and operational teams to gain buy-in and drive success.
  • Experience in process improvement to enhance efficiency and strategic alignment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in risk mitigation and project challenges.
  • Experience managing project budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of working in regulated sectors and ensuring compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report and presentation preparation.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello) and process mapping tools (e.g., Visio).

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in education, healthcare, or social care sectors, especially with vulnerable groups.
  • Familiarity with business systems and IT transformations in regulated environments.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) or change management (e.g., Prosci).
  • Experience in vendor management or third-party service providers.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based solutions and IT systems in business change.
