CONTRACTUAL STATUS:

Full-time, Fixed Term maternity cover up to 3rd July 2026. Open to Part Time - 4 days, 30hr/week

HOURS OF WORK:

30-37.5 hours per week

Sale Sharks Performance Centre, Carrington, Trafford. Training Ground - M31 4AB

SALARY:

£35,000-£37,000

External: Grant funders, sponsors, place-based community leads
Internal: Head of Rugby Development & Operations, Sale Sharks Club, Trustees

Job Summary:

The Education & Community Inclusion Lead will develop and implement strategic plans for the Education and Community Inclusion departments, focusing on alternative education provision for primary and secondary students and our Hitz programme for 16-19-year-olds. The role involves working closely with the Community Inclusion Manager and team to develop and monitor projects related to disability, social inclusion, health, and wellbeing. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to help achieve strategic goals in education and community inclusion.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Education Design and Development:
  • Lead the design and development of innovative educational programmes and initiatives.
  • Expand alternative education provision for primary and secondary schools, both in-school and out-of-school.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions to align programmes with standards and best practices.
  • Develop new programmes, including paid education offerings combining rugby with curriculum skills like numeracy.
Relationship Management:
  • Set the strategic direction for the team, building relationships with external and internal partners.
  • Work with commercial partners to support projects and secure funding.
  • Maintain effective partnerships within Education and Community Inclusion sectors.
Leadership:
  • Contribute to the Senior Leadership Team, managing budgets and providing strategic guidance.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team aligned with the Foundation’s values and vision.
  • Manage departmental budgets, setting and achieving targets.
Development and Implementation:
  • Identify and develop new funding opportunities for the Foundation’s Education and Community Inclusion initiatives.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed across all activities.
  • Support the Community Inclusion Manager in designing and leading new programmes.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Maintain accurate records and data for grants and funding streams.
  • Track KPIs and report to the CEO and Trustees as needed.
  • Design monitoring and evaluation systems for programmes, including social impact measures.
  • Produce reports for grant and funding partners.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, with time off in lieu provided.
