Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 per hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week for new colleagues, but flexible options for fewer hours (minimum 12 hours) are available. We are open to hearing from you regardless of your availability.

The schedule is based on your availability windows, with shifts planned and communicated three weeks in advance. We support flexibility and encourage you to apply even if your available times are close to but not exactly matching our advertised windows.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver goods from Lands’ End to John O’Groats, meeting and assisting customers in their homes. This role involves more than driving; it’s about helping others and providing excellent service with a smile.

The job is hands-on, physical, and varied. No two shifts are the same, and you will be supported by managers and colleagues back at the store.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering customer orders, ensuring the van and trays are clean and organized.
  • Maintaining a tidy delivery yard and picking up litter.
  • Washing trays as part of the process.
  • Loading the van and checking its roadworthiness.
  • Communicating with customers about order changes, substitutions, and refunds.
  • Handling products carefully and delivering within the scheduled time slot.
  • Calling customers before early arrivals and informing the store if running late.

You will need:
  • Build good relationships with colleagues.
  • Be warm and welcoming with customers and colleagues.
  • Respond quickly to customer needs and embrace change.
  • Be energetic and driven to exceed expectations.
  • Share ideas for store improvement.
  • A valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
