Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer with a background in IT security system engineering, particularly within the utilities industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in system interoperability, video surveillance systems (VSS), access control, networking, and Windows Server OS infrastructure. The Application Engineer will play a key role in supporting the strategy and direction of our Corporate Security business unit, focusing on enhancing security measures and optimizing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Integration and Management:
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless interoperability of security systems across the energy sector infrastructure.
3. Oversee the implementation of Windows Active Directory and single sign-on solutions for enhanced authentication and authorization.
4. Lead internal projects related to system upgrades, asset refresh initiatives, and the rollout of access control systems.
5. Coordinate the commissioning of new sites into the security system, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
6. Implement automation processes using PowerShell and SQL scripting to improve operational efficiency and reduce OPEX.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Programming Languages and Tools:

Hands-on experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, Ruby, etc., and familiarity with relevant tools.

Knowledge of System Architectures and Design Patterns:

Understanding of microservices, service-oriented architecture, and software design best practices.

Experience with Security Application Providers:

Experience with Gallagher, Axis, and video surveillance management applications, including knowledge of system architecture, data storage, and data processing.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Evaluate security, CCTV, and access control products for integration within the energy sector infrastructure.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Implement quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with standards like ISO 27001.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders across departments.
• Provide high-level support on complex security solutions.

Qualifications:

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2016, networking, and ITIL.
• Experience with Gallagher Access Control systems.
