A little bit more about your role and the team …

You will be joining a large environmental team in Naas, including environmental scientists, contaminated land professionals, ecologists, geologists, and geotechnical engineers. We want you to enjoy working in a collaborative environment where you can apply your skills to a diverse range of clients and projects. You will join an enthusiastic and supportive team, providing a challenging and fulfilling working experience.

PROJECTS

You will be involved in working as part of large project teams on geo-environmental projects. This work will include desktop studies, environmental chemistry data analysis, and creating conceptual site models. Opportunities to get involved with environmental assessment projects are also available, including baseline studies, GIS, and water monitoring.

GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Upon successful completion of your placement, you may be offered a WSP scholarship, where you will be paid a bursary by us for the remaining years you have left at university. With the scholarship, you will return for future placements until you have completed your studies and then join us as part of the Graduate Development Programme after graduation.

We have established relationships with professional institutions including but not limited to ICE, IStructE, IET, CIBSE, CIHT, CILT, IMechE, IChemE, CIWEM, RICS, RTPI, SocEnv & APM. You will have the opportunity to select a technical mentor to help you on your journey, and to be rewarded for your efforts (when you reach certain professional milestones, you’ll even get a bonus as a thank you and recognition for your hard work).

Our 2-year Graduate Programme is designed to support personal career development through a blended learning experience, including core business skills, career-focused training, networking, professional registration mentoring, and on-the-job experience. The programme includes:

  • 2-day in-person induction
  • In-person training days
  • Technical role-specific training
  • Curated online content
  • On-the-job experience
  • Additional resources and activities

We also have a unique Professional Growth Network (PGN), a networking group run by early career professionals for early career professionals, to grow your network and support your path to chartered status or other professional accreditations.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Studying and working towards at least a 2:2 in a geo-environmental discipline.
  • Studying a relevant degree from the listed backgrounds.
  • A passion for sustainable engineering or environmental work, with creativity to solve problems.
  • A drive to make a positive impact on the world.
  • Willingness to share new ideas and inspire others.
  • Ability to apply your studies practically from day one.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to dynamic environments.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan effectively.

Please note that behavioral assessment results at WSP are valid for 12 months. If you have completed an assessment within this period and been unsuccessful, we cannot consider your application.
