Job Description

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring all plant, equipment, and systems are operational to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and condition monitoring of plant and equipment.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of plant equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Report status of machine breakdowns to engineering supervisors.
  • Report any damage or misuse of equipment.
  • Complete statutory examinations and related reports.
  • Undertake ancillary tasks such as fueling, lubrication, cleaning, etc.
  • Maintain safety and reliability standards in all maintenance activities.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors, both written and verbal.
  • Drive vehicles and cargo handling equipment, with training provided.
  • Work flexibly across workshops and work areas.
  • Work at heights as required.
  • Ensure a clean, hazard-free working environment in compliance with standards.
Candidate Requirements

Minimum 2-3 years experience in maintaining industrial fixed plant and equipment. Relevant qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (HNC/D or NVQ 2/3). Skills in electrical/mechanical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fault-finding. Full UK driving license and right to work in the UK.
