Job description

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead the design and architecture of enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT strategy.
2. Providing vendor-agnostic solutions tailored to the organization’s needs, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and seamless integration.
3. Oversee the implementation and integration of applications, ensuring seamless interoperability and performance.
4. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, and ensure successful delivery of projects.
5. Manage application lifecycle, including upgrades, maintenance, and support.
6. Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
7. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
8. Conduct regular assessments of applications to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
9. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the Oil and Gas industry to drive innovation.
10. Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and user guides.
11. Support long-term application strategy and digital transformation.
12. Develop Iraqi team through coaching, training, and mentoring.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in application architecture, design, and implementation.
3. Experience in the Oil and Gas industry and familiarity with industry-specific applications and standards.
4. Proven experience in leading large-scale enterprise application projects.
5. Strong understanding of application development frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
6. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
7. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, .NET, Python, or equivalent.
8. Knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
9. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
10. Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
12. Strong Team player with demonstrated ability in consensus building to ensure excellent stakeholder engagement, alignment and ethical decision-making.
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Essential Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
15. Desirable proficiency in Arabic and/or Kurdish.
