Here at Saga, we are looking for a new Finance Change Accountant to join Saga Insurance.

You will support successful outcomes across the finance workstream of a critical Saga Services Limited (SSL) transformation project linked to a 20-year Partnership with Ageas. This partnership combines Saga’s brand, customer insight, and scale with Ageas’s underwriting expertise and technology, enabling growth in the over 50’s market.

As the Finance Change Accountant, you will help design and implement changes within our Insurance Brokering Finance function, focusing on embedding accounting processes and controls to meet business needs in a post-go-live partnership model.

Reporting to the Insurance Financial Controller, this role will extend the existing FR&C team, ensuring readiness for Saga Services Limited’s future business model.

This role offers high visibility within the Saga Insurance finance leadership team and involves active participation in a high-profile project during a period of change. You will need to proactively manage stakeholder expectations and contribute to project governance.

We offer flexible working arrangements—either from home or our hubs in London or Folkestone. The role requires you to be in the Folkestone office at least once a month for team meetings.

Role Responsibilities

You will be accountable for establishing the accounting processes and controls necessary for accurately recording financial performance under the new business model.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the integrity and timeliness of project deliverables
  • Collaborating with finance and business stakeholders for a smooth transition
  • Participating in governance and steering meetings for the Insurance business
  • Managing stakeholder expectations and priorities
  • Building trust within the Saga Insurance finance team
  • Challenging and optimizing project finance processes
The Ideal Candidate

You will be an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant with proven experience in delivering business change projects related to finance systems and processes.

Experience in the insurance industry is not essential but would be advantageous.

You should demonstrate:

  • Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in external financial reporting and statutory accounts
  • Ability to build strong relationships across teams
  • A mindset for continuous improvement and process challenge
  • Credibility and influence within teams
  • Strong analytical skills and curiosity to understand underlying processes
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines
