Locum Band 7 Occupational Therapist

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (days of the week negotiable)

Contract Type: Temporary

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our team and contribute to the assessment and intervention of highly complex patients within the Continuing HealthCare (CHC) Team. This role offers the opportunity to work across the CTM Health Board, providing essential assessments and support to patients in their homes.

About Client:

Our client provides comprehensive healthcare services across South Wales, including acute hospital, community, and primary care. The board focuses on improving patient care, addressing health inequalities, and integrating services for better community health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed assessments for complex patients within their own homes.
  • Determine the need for specialist manual handling equipment or techniques.
  • Submit equipment requests to the CHC Panel for evaluation and consideration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
  • Provide expert advice on manual handling and equipment needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with 3+ years of NHS experience.
  • HCPC registration and professional accreditation.
  • Proven experience in working with complex cases within a community or health board setting.
  • Strong assessment skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
