Role Details

The hourly rate for this role is £12.60 and up to £14.13 across selected locations within London. The hourly rate will increase after 6 months in role.

No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided.

About the opportunity

As a Trainee Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

While completing your Dispenser training (NVQ2), you will build relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your tasks will include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, and providing advice to support patients' health and wellness.

This role is based in-store within the UK. Remote applicants and candidates outside the UK without relevant UK qualifications and right to work will not be considered.

Key responsibilities
  1. Complete your training for the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 program.
  2. Dispense prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  3. Assist in managing and delivering pharmacy services alongside healthcare professionals.
  4. Provide care and advice to patients about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist as needed.
  5. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for legal and safe dispensing.
  6. Stay updated with store innovations and operational processes.
  7. Support patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.

You will also have opportunities to work with new technologies to improve patient safety and efficiency, with ongoing training and career development options, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or in store leadership.

Requirements
  • Desire to learn and complete the Dispenser training program (NVQ2).
  • Current and valid UK right to work. Note: this role does not sponsor Skilled Worker Visas.
Preferred
  • Experience in community pharmacy is a plus.
