Job description

Job Description

About the role

SZC is owned by two shareholders, Electricité de France (EDF) and His Majesty's Government (HMG). The shareholders hold their investment through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited. The shareholdings will change over time.

The shareholders will fund SZC until Financial Close through equity, following the approved schedule and budget. SZC's business involves designing, financing, constructing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and eventually decommissioning the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. The current development phase aims to finalize the Capital Raise Plan, complete an equity and debt raise, secure core supply chain contracts, and obtain necessary regulatory permits and licenses.

Previously, SZC operated as part of EDF's Nuclear Development business unit. It is now establishing itself as an independent organization capable of delivering a new nuclear power plant, from investment and funding to construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.

The project’s technical and commercial business case is based on replicating the Hinkley Point C model. EDF will be a key supplier of nuclear capability for SZC from its UK footprint. Key stakeholders include HMG, relevant government departments, EDF, financial investors, regulators, alliance partners, and local communities.

What you'll be doing

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing a section of Marine Works related to the Marine & Tunnels portion.
  2. Planning and coordinating work to meet project schedules.
  3. Ensuring engineering controls and compliance with specifications.
  4. Assisting with site investigations, project implementation, and development of supporting documents.
  5. Reviewing supplier proposals and deliverables.
  6. Assessing risks and developing risk management documents.
  7. Ensuring quality assurance and safety standards.
  8. Providing technical support to the delivery team.
  9. Maintaining accurate site records and reports.
  10. Utilizing digital tools for project support.
  11. Focusing on Zero Harm principles.
  12. Managing marine/site engineers reporting to them.
