This role highlights our commitment to growth and delivering exceptional service. You will work closely with a skilled maintenance team to assist and support colleagues in repairs and maintenance, directly contributing to the safety and happiness of our customers in their homes. If you’re passionate about making a difference, we want to hear from you.

Our customers are central to everything we do. We seek individuals who take pride in delivering outstanding service. Strong communication skills with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders are essential.

The role is subject to a basic DBS check, paid for by Gentoo.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing excellent customer service through clear communication and respectful attitude.
  • Performing general construction and maintenance labouring duties, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Assisting with bricklaying, roofing, and repairs such as gutter unblocking, pointing, and window mastic replacements.
  • Removing furniture and rubbish from properties, sites, and communal areas.
  • Carrying out damp and mould treatments, wash downs, and wall applications.
  • Installing loft insulation during replacements and top-ups.
  • Removing debris from damaged walls, spillages, and floods.
  • Driving, collecting, and delivering materials to support team operations.
What we are looking for:
  • A full UK driver’s license.
  • Experience in labouring, construction, maintenance, or grounds maintenance.
  • Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety regulations.
  • A flexible approach to meet role demands.
  • Ability to work at height and outdoors.
  • Competence with handheld IT systems.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills.
Benefits include:
  • 31 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with options to purchase additional days.
  • Early finish on Fridays.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Free Health Cash Plan covering dental, optical, physiotherapy, and wellbeing therapies, with some free child cover.
  • Access to private healthcare through the Health Cash Plan.
  • Competitive pension scheme with employer contributions up to 10%.
  • Salary sacrifice electric vehicle scheme.
  • Enhanced family-friendly leave policies.
  • Mileage allowance for using your personal vehicle for work.
  • Life assurance worth three times your annual salary.
