Job Description

The Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) Department at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for mass fundraising by enabling individuals, communities, and companies to support ARUK through their talents and passions. The team drives registrations and income via third-party, virtual, and mass participation events, managing relationships to maximize income.

We are seeking an Online Fundraising Executive to support our team. You will be the face of our friendly and passionate Online Fundraising Team, building relationships with supporters who use online channels such as Facebook challenges, streaming, and crypto donations.

You will be at the forefront of the evolving fundraising sector, keen to explore new growth areas, identify trends, and adapt quickly to changes in online fundraising.

Your role includes providing administrative support to ensure smooth integration of online fundraising systems across ARUK, including database management, income tracking, overseeing online donation platforms, virtual fundraising, and general administrative duties.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Online Administrative Support
  2. Steward online supporters, focusing on Facebook challenge moderation and messaging
  3. Lead on specific processes like merchandise for Facebook challenges
  4. Support Facebook challenges, crypto donations, and streaming campaigns administratively
  5. Assist with social media and website updates, including virtual challenges
  6. Provide data support to the Online Fundraising Manager
  7. Manage online fundraising sites, track income, and conduct audits
  8. Maintain accurate fundraising data, support supporter engagement, and ensure timely acknowledgments
  9. Assist with online fundraising materials requests
  10. Ensure all communications comply with GDPR policies

Spotting supporter potential

  1. Identify opportunities to grow networks within our online community and communicate these to the team
  2. Keep the team updated with supporter feedback
  3. Support outreach to relevant corporates, including tech startups and gaming companies
  4. Engage new supporters via social media platforms such as Twitch, Discord, and Reddit
  5. Use data reports to identify trends and opportunities
  6. Collaborate with SLF and the Supporter Engagement Team to share ideas and strategies

Creativity and Trend Hunting

  1. Monitor emerging online fundraising trends through horizon scanning
  2. Draft briefs and proposals for internal stakeholders on new opportunities
  3. Evaluate and prioritize potential opportunities

Collaboration

  1. Build strong cross-team relationships for optimal supporter stewardship
  2. Work closely with the Digital Team to integrate fundraising initiatives
  3. Share fundraiser stories with the Supporters and Families Team for publicity
  4. Coordinate with Science Communications, Digital, and Design teams to create online assets
  5. Liaise with Supporter Care to align processes
  6. Coordinate with Internal Communications to share team objectives

Candidate Requirements:

  • Confident with computers and social media platforms, especially Facebook
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Enthusiastic, polite, with excellent communication skills
  • Organized, capable of managing multiple demands and priorities
  • Passionate about delivering excellent supporter stewardship
  • Warm, personable, and collaborative
  • Willing to learn, adapt, and work flexibly, including occasional unsociable hours and travel

Additional Information:

  • Work approximately 2 days/week from the office, with flexibility between home and office
  • Role does not include claimable expenses for travel or meals
  • Location: 3 Riverside, Granta Park, Great Abington, Cambridge CB21 6AD
  • Salary: circa £23,000 + benefits
