Health & Safety Advisor (Construction), Swindon

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing, managing, implementing, and monitoring the Safety, Health, and Environmental Management system by updating systems in line with legislative changes or best practices.
• Develop content for HSE Training and awareness programmes.
• Implement the Construction behavioural-based safety programme ‘BRAVE’.
• Conduct inspections and audits with management to ensure compliance with company, client, and legislative requirements, and recommend improvements.
• Investigate and record close calls, near misses, and other incidents reported within the business.
• Maintain honesty and professionalism as a health and safety professional.
• Manage key HSE data for trend analysis and develop systems to address identified trends.
• Develop Occupational Health and Wellbeing campaigns to increase awareness.
• Provide health and safety input into Tenders and Pre-qualifications for the Work Winning department.
• Support the HSE Manager in implementing the Business Strategy related to Health and Safety.
• Fully cooperate with IOSH and abide by its Charter, Byelaws, and Regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
• Experience working on large Construction/Civils projects.
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety position.

Location: Swindon

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 Per Annum + Car Allowance
